Course Description

Are poor English skills holding you back from succeeding in business? 

This course gives you the fluencies required to fulfill your future employment ambitions. You will become familiar with business vocabulary and business culture by practicing spoken and written activities common to companies in the United States. Learn to use English during the following situations:

  • Applying and interviewing for a job (writing a resume, speaking, and listening during 
an interview)
  • Meeting business people for the first time and introducing others
  • Participating in meetings—face-to-face, web-based, or by telephone
  • Collecting information and writing reports
  • Giving presentations and reports to peers, higher authorities, or clients
  • Making small talk among employees

About the Course Author

Cynthia has been in educational publishing for more than 10 years, working on reading language arts and English as a second language materials for Pearson, Harcourt, McGraw-Hill, and Prentice Hall. She has a B.Ed. in English (grades 7-12) and is currently completing her MATESOL at American University. Cynthia enjoys learning and interacting with her ESL students online.
