Course Description

Are you concerned about preparing for the Advanced Placement US Government test? Do you want to gain an extra edge? Here is your answer!

The course is divided into six major sections:

  1. Constitutional Foundations & Federalism
  2. US Congress & Interest Groups
  3. Executive Branch & Bureaucracy
  4. Policy
  5. Public Opinion, Elections & the Media
  6. The Courts, Civil Liberties and Civil Rights

Each section of the course contains: 

  1. An overview of the section
  2. A PowerPoint which teachers can use to teach to their students
  3. Review sheets, projects and essays which cover the entire content 
  4. Rubrics for all of the assignments
  5. A review guide to study for tests

Additionally there are:

  1. Multiple choice exams for each section and a final exam
  2. Choices of free response questions for each unit and their rubrics
  3. Video tips for successfully taking the AP exam free response section

About the Course Author

Frank Franz has taught AP US Government in Fairfax County, VA for the past 12 years.

He consulted on the scope and sequence and created multiple choice and free response questions for NBC Universal’s iCue.com AP US Government & Politics course.

A teacher for the past 18 years, Franz has a Masters degree in Education from George Mason University.

About the Course Author

Ken Halla has taught AP US Government in Fairfax County, VA, for the past eleven years while also teaching the class each summer for George Mason University. Halla served as a reader (grader) for the Educational Testing Service during the same period. A teacher for the past nineteen years, Halla has a Ph.D. in Political Science from George Washington University.
