Building Virtual Worlds

I attended the annual exposition for CMU's virtual reality course entitled "Building Virtual Worlds" as a guest of Zulama.  I had gone to the exposition the previous year and really enjoyed it, so I was looking forward to it this year.  It's been really interesting to see a course like this continuing for as long as it has and drawing students from around the world.

Zulama's top three takeaways from 2010:

1) In the digital age, students are equipped more now than ever to take responsibility and control of their own learning.

The "teacher knows best" paradigm is evolving. Students can look up the facts online, on their phones, on their tablets. Rather than requiring students to memorize facts, we need to encourage them to think and reflect.
