Gamestar Mechanic Finally Releases

Saturday, 10.16.2010, 5:13 AM

After a number of years of development, the Gamestar Mechanic platform has finally been released. It's basically a game that teaches kids how to make games. Read a blog entry about the history of the toolkit here.

We're excited because we support games as an educational medium—for lots of reasons. The process of playing games can be educational, as well as the process of creating games. Check out Zulama's video game academy, developed by the Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center.
